Corten Weathering Steel

 Weathering steel is a type of metal used for many outdoor applications. The corrosion resistant effect of the protective layer is produced by different  elements within it, notably higher copper content than regular steel. 

The naturally-developed patina protecting the surface regenerates when subjected to weather. In other words, the steel is allowed to rust in order to form the ‘protective’ coating. This protective coating guards against future corrosion.
